Panel

Today, October 25 the Culinary Career Group got to learn more about the different types of jobs Bakers & Chefs have. We had many chefs & not much bakers. What was most interesting was the Pastry because baking & making different types of deserts seems fun to do.

Today we had a group of panel speakers come to the school to talk to us about there careers.It was very fun to get to understand the history behind why they started that profession. They were very funny and down to earth. I really enjoyed it.

Culinary Institute






In this picture we went to the culinary institute and we learned about all the culinary positions they offered.
They showed us there kitchens and how the rooms were. I really enjoyed this trip and everything we talked about.

In this picture we were at the green market. The people who worked there were talking about how easier it would be to buy products from markets closer by. The products are fresh and more nutrious.

On Monday morning we went to the lunch room and talked to the CEO of butter beans. She shared with the group that she is a mother and she shared that because she wants to show her connection with children and healthy school lunches.

After going to Amy's Bread we went to Shake Shack and ate lunch. Most of us had a burger with fries and a shake.

On Thursday, we went to New Jersey to see a food photographer named Francesco. In this picture, Francesco is setting up the focaccia so he can take a picture.

On October 22 we went to Amy's Bread.We took a tour around the bakery, we saw the kitchen , the employees and the roles they had in the bakery.

Meeting Tthe People in the Field!

We spoke to these people about their jobs and learned about their career. Are speakers spoke about how they came to be and intrigued us with there gruesome accidents in the kitchen.

Today we got to ask question to these 5 people about there culinary careers. I was very interested in Kelvin Fernandez work because he executive chef who was on tv as a chopped finalist which is super cool because i love that show.

A Day With A Photographer

The group went out to New Jersey and saw Francesco. It was actually the best day out of the week. I had fun and hope to see him again.

        This morning we were lucky enough to get people with culinary careers to come and speak to us. While we were speaking to them we were able ask them personal questions about their careers and we were able to ask general questions

So yesterday we were able to go to New Jersey to see a photographer.We spent the time learning about the steps that go into taking photographs of food and the editing process. At the end we had a delicious lunch.

Today, October 24 the Culinary Career group went to a photo studio in New Jersey. We got to learn how to take better photos of food & the style & the techinques photographers use. We also got food!

Fun with ICE

Today we (The Culinary Careers Group) went to The Institution of Culinary Education and we learned about the different types of jobs, experiences, and opportunities you can gain by either eenrolling as a student or even a intern. And we also got to see and learn about the different chefs who accomplished many things after going ti the institution.

Fresh Farmers Market

Today we went to the Farmers Market in Manhattan and we learned about the differences between foods from the farmers market and store sold. We also got to endure in a scavenger hunt for certain vegetables which helped us become more familiar with many distinct and exotic vegetables

Today we went to ICE and we had a tour of the institute. We were able to see people during classes learning new techniques.

Today in the afternoon, the Culinary Career group went to the Institute of Culinary Education. We got a tour of the school. This is the kitchen where students cook. 

Green Mark

Today in the morning, the Culinary Career group went to the Green Market, we did this scavenger hunt, & we also got to learn whats organic & whats not organic. These flowers are Megans favorite kind of flowers. 

Chipotle

Today, October 23 The Culinary Career goup went to go eat at Chipotle, it was really awesome. This picture is a Chipotle from back then.

We got to hear a very important man talk who was very famous in France. We got to tour around the school it was clean

Today the culinary careers group was lucky enough that we had a chance to visit Ice the institute of culinary education. We were able to see some students who currently attend the school, check out the  kitchens and also meet a famous French chef .

David!

Today this kind man David told us a little bit about the farmers market in the city and the difference between vegetables and stuff that farmers grow and you buy within a couple of days compared to veggies at the super market. This kind man was able to plan out a scavenger hunt for our culinary career group throughout the whole farmers market. Ps my group one😊

On Wednesday morning, the Culinary Careers Rensizzle group went to the farmers market at Union Square. A man named David talked to us about farming and then we went on a scavenger hunt. One interesting thing I found was a carrot.

Amy's Bread!

Today the Culinary Career group visited Amy's Bread factory in Long Island city. This picture shows a worker of Amy's bread pulling out fresh bread from the extremely hot oven. This bread was made everyday from scratch.
