Nahian's Post about Thursday

On Thursday, November 29, we had a little cooking session where we made made a chicken stock and marinated chicken as well as fried chicken. Joe, our cooking teacher, had taught us how to properly cut and slice and dice things, different techniques to cut onions quickly and more efficiently, and how to slice things safely without cutting our fingers off! One thing I took away from the knife skills was to keep your fingers tucked in so that the knife bumps into your knuckles and it doesn't cut you. I would say that I was one of the fastest and best cutters in the class along with a few of my classmates such as Allan Cruz and David Rodriguez. Overall I loved doing things hands on, I love handling food and vegetables and cutting them up and I think that Ill start helping out my mom in the kitchen more.
